Battery Isolator

The ASMoto BatteryIsolator is a fully electronic battery isolation system, specifically developed for racing applications. As it contains no moving parts, it is highly resistant to vibrations, shocks and contaminants such as water, dust, etc., and the disconnection is completely spark-free, which provides a high level of safety in the event of an accident.

BatteryIsolator breaks the connection between the negative corner of the battery and the body.

It can perform 3 functions:

• Disconnects all electrical equipment from the battery
• Shuts down the engine (engine kill function, to disable the PDM or ECU)
• It dissipates the surge voltage caused by the generator, which continues to rotate after disconnection, protecting the car's electronic devices

The circuit breaker has several internal protections, including overcurrent and overheat monitoring. It constantly monitors the status of the buttons, and will shut down immediately in the event of a wire break, for example in the event of an accident. Two LEDs indicate the status and fault codes, one on the main switch and one on the circuit breaker.

It can communicate with the ASMoto PowerModule via Lin bus, so all the parameters of the circuit breaker can be monitored and logged.
