TractionControl

Traction control for front, rear and four-wheel drive cars. Using the signal from the ABS wheel sensors, it reduces the engine torque until the slip of the driven wheels falls below 20%. It pairs perfectly with the ASMoto ECU, which can continuously and intelligently control the torque applied to the wheels at any given moment via a CAN bus, but can also be interfaced with other engine control systems.

Two versions are available, one equipped for signals from inductive wheel-turn sensors used on older cars, the other for fitting to intelligent sensors on newer models. The newer types are better in that they can detect any slow rotation, so that starting from a stationary position can be slightly better, compared to inductive sensors, which start to give a usable signal from 10-15 km/h.

The wiring of the whole system is very simple, besides the 8 wires of the 4 wheel sensors, you need a signal from the brake light switch, a signal from the handbrake switch, an output to the engine control (CAN bus in case of ASMoto ECU), power supply and maybe a dashboard indicator.

At the same time, the electronics are capable of controlling the switchable four-wheel drive (e.g. Haldex) in a programmable way depending on traction, or even (e.g. for off-road use) the electronic differential lock or differential braking per wheel in a pre-programmed way.
